Bridgeport Porch Fire Displaces Eight Residents

Firefighters responded to a porch fire that left eight residents displaced in Bridgeport.

The incident took place around 3:27 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 475 Putnam St, where firefighters found a fire on the porch area of the three-story residence, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Fire Department.

"The fire did not extend inside the structure," he said.

Firefighters said searches of the entire residence did not turn up any other fires

Red Cross was notified to take care of the eight displaced residents

No injuries were reported. The Fire Marshal is currently conducting an investigation.
